2

Review and approve

We prepare your annual report from your current state record and your updates, then send you a plain-language summary to review and approve.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to use a service like yours to file my annual report?

No. You can file your annual report yourself directly with your state's business filing office for the state fee only. Some business owners choose a filing service to save time, get a second set of eyes on their information, or receive reminders. The choice is entirely yours.

What is an annual report?

An annual report (called a periodic report or statement of information in some states) is a filing that confirms or updates your company's information on the state record, such as its addresses, registered agent, and officers or managers. It is not a financial statement. Most states require one on a regular schedule, often every year or every two years, for a company to stay in good standing, whether or not anything has changed.

When is my annual report due?

Deadlines vary by state. Some states use the same due date for every company, while others base it on the month your company was formed. Many states charge a late fee for reports filed after the deadline, and a company that does not file may lose its good standing or be administratively dissolved. We confirm your state's deadline and current state fee before you approve your filing.

Can I update my company information with the annual report?

In many states, yes. Depending on the state, the annual report can update your principal and mailing addresses, registered agent, officers, directors, managers or members, and in some states your Employer Identification Number (EIN). Other changes, such as a new company name, usually require a separate amendment.

Will anything be filed without my approval?

No. We prepare the filing and send you a summary to review. We submit only after you approve it.

How do your fees work?

Our service fee and any state filing fees are shown to you separately and clearly before you authorize any payment. State fees are set by the state and are passed through at cost.

Which states do you serve?

We prepare and submit annual reports for LLCs and corporations in all 50 states. Requirements, deadlines, and state fees vary by state, so we confirm the details for your company before you approve anything.

Do you provide legal advice?

No. Biz Filing Renewal is not a law firm and does not provide legal, tax, or accounting advice. If you have a legal question about your company, please consult a licensed attorney.
